How to Know Your Child's Study Time Is Real
Verified active practice, explained simply, so you know a scheduled session was real study time.
Every parent has asked some version of, did you do your study session today. The honest answer is not always easy to measure. A browser tab left open is not the same as focused practice. That is why Ilmino now measures attendance based on genuine learning activity, not just time on a page.
How Active Time Is Measured
During a scheduled session, Ilmino counts active practice only when your child is really engaging: answering questions, typing or drawing a solution, choosing options, moving through the material, opening a hint. Time spent idle, or with the page sitting in the background, does not count. If your child drifts off for a few minutes, Ilmino pauses and gently asks whether they are still practising.
What You Will See
At the end of each session you get a clear status:
- Attended: your child spent most of the scheduled time in verified active practice and answered at least one question.
- Partially attended: they practised for some of the time.
- Missed: little or no practice took place.
You also see the details that help you understand a session at a glance: scheduled length, verified active minutes, attendance percentage, questions attempted, questions answered correctly, and the skills they worked on. For example: Partially attended, 37 of 60 active minutes, 12 questions attempted.
We keep this respectful and private. Ilmino stores only what is needed to work out learning activity. No keystrokes, no browsing history, nothing unnecessary. Just an honest picture you can trust.
